So, i was sitting in math class and all of a sudden, after a series of previous events, i get depressed. i wonder why i'm on earth and what purpose i have. there are so many people, and i'm one of them. who do i matter to? why? i seem alone so much--the world might be just fine if i never existed. i don't mean as much to some people as they do to me. why do i bother, what am i here for?
my answer is this: there's not a reason. just like there's not a reason for beauty.. there doesn't have to be. that's one of the things that makes it beautiful. that's why we are here: to pursue beauty, for the sake of it. we're here to preserve the purity in things, the beauty in things. i pursue beauty to preserve it, to love it--not necessarily to become a part of it physically, but to contribute to what is beautiful.
this is why i made this picture. my monster, my creature Domnopalus, is not especially beautiful. nor does he have to be. but he still looks for beauty. he still chases it, because it must remain.
I like the vastness of the landscape, the color of the sunset/sunrise, and the strangeness of the creature. He looks fierce, yet he pursues beauty. That's such a neat sentiment.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
